I have written a number of technical articles. These include programming, MicroStation^®, GIS^™, and relational databases. Some articles describe aspects of software development for MicroStation 2024, MicroStation CONNECT, or their 32-bit predecessor MicroStation V8i. Other articles provide code examples written in Python, C#, C++ or VBA. More generally, there are articles about C++, VBA and .NET development with C#.

CAD

Computer Aided Design (CAD) lets engineers and draftsmen create 3D and 2D models and drawings. LA Solutions is primarily concerned with Bentley Systems' MicroStation.

GIS

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) let geographers and analysts examine data in a spatial context. LA Solutions is primarily concerned with Bentley Map and PowerMap from Bentley Systems.

Databases

A database is often used to store alpha-numeric 'business' information. We can help design and implement your database, whether Microsoft Access™, SQL Server™ or Oracle™.

For GIS and asset-management applications, a database is commonly linked to graphic elements in Bentley Systems' MicroStation. For example, an office plan might have asset data stored in a relational database, or a GIS application might have feature data stored in a hierarchical XML data repository.
