What is FlexiTable?

FlexiTable™ is an AddIn or App that adds functionality to Bentley Systems MicroStation^®. It's a tool for architects, engineers, designers and planners. In some occupations it might be termed a Building Information Modelling (BIM) tool. FlexiTable CONNECT Edition works with MicroStation CONNECT Update 14 and later.

What kind of data can I harvest using FlexiTable?

FlexiTable gathers data about various kinds of DGN objects. You can harvest data about DGN objects such as …

• Text: text, text nodes, text tables and some other DGN elements
• Line Features: lines, line strings, arcs, complex line strings and other unclosed DGN elements
• Area Features: shapes, ellipses, complex shapes and other closed planar DGN elements
• Cells: normal cells, shared cells and parametric cells
• Item Instances: elements that have been tagged with Item Type properties

Aggregates: Object Count and Measurement Arithmetic

Can I obtain a Cell Count using FlexiTable?

Yes: FlexiTable's aggregate commands let you harvest cells and calculate cell usage.

How can I get the total length/area/volume of a set of objects?

It's automatic: whenever you harvest DGN objects that have measurable properties, the total of those properties is calculated and displayed in the footer of your worksheet.

For example, if you harvest area features, then their total area and total perimeter are calculated and displayed in the worksheet footer.

I already have FlexiTable for MicroStation V8i

FlexiTable for MicroStation V8i has been available for many years. The first version of FlexiTable was introduced for MicroStation V8 2004 Edition. MicroStation V8i and its predecessors are 32-bit apps for the Windows® operating system.

Can I use FlexiTable V8i with MicroStation CONNECT?

MicroStation CONNECT is a 64-bit app. It requires a 64-bit Windows operating system and apps developed for MicroStation CONNECT must also be 64-bit. FlexiTable CONNECT Edition has been developed as a 64-bit app to be compatible with MicroStation CONNECT. If you have upgraded your MicroStation installation to CONNECT then you must …

Can I use FlexiTable V8i at the same time as FlexiTable CONNECT Edition?

You can use MicroStation CONNECT and MicroStation V8i simultaneously on the same computer. You can use FlexiTable V8i and FlexiTable CONNECT Edition simultaneously: however, the two versions must be installed and licensed separately.

Licensing
